Assuring wine traceability has been compulsory since 1st January 2009 and must enable wine to be traced back to when the harvest enters the winery.
This specifically means all movements and oenological treatments must be recorded.
Beyond the regulatory obligation defined by the European Commission, the aim through all stages of production, transformation, distribution and process is the ability to easily trace the source of any problem. The people in charge of Château Bizard did not wait for this new regulation to come into force to invest in staff training and new software.
Any work and treatments on the vine are also taken into account.
Even if wine is relatively safe from food risks, it is very important that consumers trust our products.
